The reader will (or won't - what do I know?) recall that we left off the burqa debate at the point where one reader had argued that the reason burqas must be banned is that you can't ID a person in a burqa. And I keep forgetting to post this, but here is the solution to that problem:
Eye scanners. Not expensive, easy to use, more accurate than ID cards, and work just fine on burqas.
